As we face this trying chapter in our history, we need Changemakers now, more than ever before.  Starting today and for the second year in a row, organizations, and individuals in designated changemaker cities are invited to register their community projects for the Gucci Changemakers Impact Fund application. It is the first step to becoming a part of the broader Gucci Changemakers community and championing important social and economic issues, amid one of the most pivotal moments in history.

Since its launch in 2019, Gucci has invested $2 million in multi-year grant funding to organizations working to promote social good in diverse communities throughout North America. As a result of this dynamic support, organizations like the ACLU of Louisiana has been able to tackle Louisiana’s staggering incarceration levels, Braven Chicago has helped 170 college graduates launch promising careers, while Design Core Detroit’s Design in the City program has bolstered 20 designers and134 local businesses, in a wider effort to redefine Detroit as hub of modern design.

In addition to the Impact Fund, Gucci will open the application process for  The Gucci Changemakers Scholars Award and The Gucci Changemakers X CFDA Scholar by Design Award. The Gucci Changemakers Scholars Award was created with the aim of forging a more diverse fashion industry for the future.  Students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), as well as those studying marketing, art, film, communications, merchandising, and other related fashion fields within the 12 impact cities at an accredited community college or four year university, are encouraged to apply. Each awardee will receive up to $20,000 based on their financial need.

The Gucci Changemakers X CFDA Scholar by Design Award will select one woman of color or a person who identifies as a woman entering her senior year of design school. The awardee will receive a scholarship award for up to $20,000 based on financial need.

For this second edition, Gucci has partnered with film creatives Satchel Lee and Chance Chamblin for the Changemakers launch video, envisaged to inspire the next generation of designers, thinkers, and social entrepreneurs and illuminate the unprecedented changes we can achieve together as a broader community.
