Presenting Mathieu ‘ZywOo’ Herbaut, A GG Legend

The Gucci Gaming Academy follows the Vitality pro back to his hometown of Lens, a small ex-mining community in the North of France, where his passion for gaming was ignited after a family crisis.

Gucci Gaming Academy shines the spotlight on Mathieu ‘ZywOo’ Herbaut in the most recent episode of the docuseries ‘GG Legends’ that follows the lives of the world’s highest achievers and role models in the world of gaming.

Shot in his hometown of Lens, France, and Paris, ZywOo opens up about the family struggles that pushed him to retreat into gaming as a coping strategy. At the age of 16, after logging countless hours of training on his own, he became the youngest player in the history of gaming to receive an invite to the FACEIT Pro League and was invited to join Counter-Strike in Paris as a professional gamer just short of 18 years old.

Stories like Mathieu Herbaut’s, of overcoming adversity to achieve greatness in esports, is the theme of the ‘GG Legends’ mini docuseries. The next episode will follow the Minnesota Lynx basketball star and Team Liquid Brand Ambassador, Aerial Powers, as she pursues her mission to create space for women and people of color.
